Over the past decade, countries worldwide have poured an enormous budget into experiencing coffee. From 2015 to 2024, a total of $370 billion was spent on coffee consumption, transforming it from a mere daily habit to one of the globe’s most valuable traded commodities.

BRAZIL LEADS COFFEE EXPORTS
Brazil ranked first among coffee-exporting nations with exports totaling $62.1 billion, leaving its competitors far behind. It was followed by Switzerland ($28.6 billion) and Colombia ($28.6 billion), while Germany ($28.2 billion), Vietnam ($28.2 billion), Italy ($19.6 billion) and Honduras ($11.6 billion) also figured prominently among leading exporters.

THE U.S. DOMINATES COFFEE IMPORTS
In the realm of coffee imports, the United States stands out as the largest market with figures reaching $69.2 billion. Germany ($42 billion) and France ($29 billion) trailed behind, with Italy ($20.1 billion), Canada ($14.5 billion), Belgium ($14.3 billion), and Japan ($13.1 billion) also ranking among the top importers.

THE COFFEE ECONOMY KEEPS GROWING
For producing countries, coffee is a pivotal economic driver, while in consumer markets it represents a multi-billion dollar industry. The expenditure figures over the past decade clearly demonstrate that coffee is much more than just a beverage—it is a cultural, social, and economic powerhouse.
