Sütlü Nuriye – Yemek Öğren

Ingredients:
- 50 sheets of baklava pastry
- 350 grams of butter or margarine
- 3-4 cups of finely crushed hazelnuts
For the Syrup:
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 3 cups milk
- 1.5 cups water
- 1 can of cream
Method:
- To prepare the syrup, combine water and sugar in a saucepan. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, bring the mixture to a boil, then remove it from the heat.
- Pour the milk into the hot syrup and allow it to cool. Once cooled, whisk in a package of cream until well incorporated.
- Melt the butter in a small pan over low heat.
- Using a brush, evenly grease the bottom of a large rectangular baking dish with the melted butter. Trim the baklava pastry sheets so that you can stack them in 25 layers fitting the size of your dish.
- Layer the pastry sheets in the dish, brushing each layer with butter. After the first 25 layers, sprinkle the crushed hazelnuts evenly over the surface, then cover with another 25 butter-brushed pastry layers.
- Cut the assembled dessert into equal square pieces.
- Distribute any remaining melted butter evenly over the top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C. (For best results, position the dish slightly below the center of the oven.)
- Once removed from the oven, immediately pour the cooled syrup over the hot dessert. Allow the dish to reach room temperature before serving.
